Cody Moya Is Re-cycling
December 6, 2007 – 6:07 pmI received a very annoying mail today …
Today I have good deal for you today.
I prepared 6 Private Label Rights for $6.17 each
You can instantly and effortlessly have six profitable online
businesses you can stick your name on …and have these businesses up
and running by tonight!Check it out
http://www.xodostore.com/PLR/
The main reason this disturbed me was the fact that i recognised every single book on that page… So I did a quick search on my harddrive, and found them all.
I feel sorry for possible newbies who takes him up on this offer, as every book in that package is from 2005. Yes, you read it right, 2005. I got my packages from PrivateLabelMonthly. Sure, they weren't fresh even when I got them, but this is ridiculous… Talk about recycling!
He wants $37 for this bunch of old plr ebooks, and claims the value of each book is $997.
$997! Can you believe the nerve of this guy?
More like $7 for the bunch of them.
They have no value what so ever since they've been devalued by people selling PLR to them for a buck or two over the last 2 years!
Cody's never been one of my favorites, but this puts him on my blacklist.
I suggest you do the same :)

Thanks, Bjorn. Good to know. I was thinking about these ebooks, but there’s no need to now.

Yeah i totally agree with you .
Another thing about this guy that really pisses me off is
once you get on his list it is impossible to unsubscribe.

Bjorn, I do not recall how I found your service, but it is great! I remember this guy’s offer of these books a long time ago too. I stopped trusting him some time ago. We don’t get much help like you give - everyone says everything for sale is great! Keep it up, we need you!

Hi Bjorn,
I have to agree as well.
Cody is the guru of recycling products to the masses.
Sure he might be making a penny, but at what cost?
I know many of the Big names on the Internet and it’s no surprise that not many of them like what Cody is doing to the reputation of Internet Marketers.
I feel sorry for the “newbies” and try to write as much as possible to steer them away from the crap (which I fell into a few times when I was learning).
It’s great to see a growing number of people like yourself who are taking it upon themselves to help inform the masses.
Keep up the great work and have a fantastic day.
Ian

Ian: Most who are like me have had experiences, pleasant and not so pleasant, with all the “big names” including some who mysteriously disappeared … It goes without saying that if you get screwed a couple of times, you want to tell people about it
Just like with all the “big launches”, that consists of old crap in a shiny new barrell
By Bjorn on Dec 7, 2007
Well, I agreed. The trouble is a lot of these people are doing it. Even the ‘new’ stuffs are recycled. Every time I bought a PLR (from the WSO) I kick myself and promise not to buy anymore.
That will be my New Years resolution, only if I can keep it. ???

Hi, Bjorn !
Ever get that project done that we discussed ages ago ? :o)
Re: this post - - wasn’t it Cody a while back who even tried to “sell” movies or something that could be “freely” downloaded from another site ?
This guy’s a pip. He got a good idea or two “way back” and has been clutching at straws ever since.
When will the gullibility quotient with people on his list ever diminish ?
As far as unsubscribing: go to one of his sites and look for a way… write to him… and, if all else fails, report him to the spam cops (your isp, mail service, et al).
Thanks for stepping up to the plate, Bjorn, and telling it like it is :o)

Please, I couldn’t stand this guy’s spam. At first, I thought he was like 22 years old and didn’t know better. I figured her was just anxious and didn’t know better.
But when I found her was forty plus years old, I was pissed! I thought, “You are #$%& idiot marketing to me like that!” I would get sometimes, five messages from him on one day!
Plus they were stupid. How stupid? This guy would send me emails about his stuff three months after I unsubscribed. He reminded me of another guy years ago named, Armin Morin. Remember him and his garbage software? Then he would try and sell you on “Come take a cruise with me for $3,000?” How gay!
Coya, a real wanna be IM. An absolute spammer. Products brought to you by, “It’s easy to fool people with digital garbage. But we call them Info products, so people won’t know the difference.”
Stupid man all the way to the bank on the backs of innocent newbies. “You’re my hero Coya! Can you sign my hard drive?” Not!

Hal: which project is it you’re referring to? I have lots of projects that either never got done, is still in the sketch-pad, and that got abandoned by my “partners”.
As for the ones that never got done and are still on the planning-stages - I’ve been living “irl” for almost a year with no chance of getting anything done due to illness in the family. But please remind me, maybe it’s something really good I’ve forgotten all about
And as far as unsubscribing, just bounce a couple of mails from all his lists, and eventually you’ll be unsubscribed by “natural causes”
About the movies: Not sure about that, I know “Manila Ian” is peddling PD movies on two of his sites. Cody, on the other hand, sold me an Open Source, GPL-ed e-commerce script that had been so completely hammered by an amateur “re-branding” it for Cody, that it was absolutely useless.
Robert: Hahaha! Right on
By Bjorn on Dec 7, 2007
Cody Moya? Not in the race. King of the Recyclers is definitely “Manila Ian”.
By Ross on Dec 7, 2007
Ross: That may be true, but here’s a really fun (or should i say disturbing thing about Cody -
He runs several membership sites, I’ve tested out PrivateLabelBooks and PrivateLabelWholesaler (only because of the trial-offer for $0).
On both of these sites he restricts your usage of the book. ALL of the books on these two sites come from Project Gutenberg. They aren’t even edited. PrivateLabelBooks is currently $29.95/month, and PrivateLabelWholesaler is $97/month.
I’d say Cody’s waaaaay ahead of Ian. Codys content is way older than him and Manila Ian together

Hey Bjorn!
It simply amazes me how much some of the “so called” GOOROOS will stoop to try and take advantage of the newbies out there!
Good to see you have been keeping yourself out of trouble ! Your blog has some excellent info for everyone! Mind if I include the Feed on my Apsense iChannel?

Hey Mark!
Of course I don’t mind
Long time no see

Hmmm, everyone seems to be looking at this from one side. I grant it’s true that much of Cody’s materials and products are recycled… however, because of it, he’s among marketing greats as Liz Tomey and others who are highly respected and teaches how to do the same thing.
For instance, a mechanic writes a report back in 1990 on how to do a tune-up on your car yourself. You come along in 2007, take the same information, give it a new title, cover, and do a little up-dating and are able to make a killing selling it… wouldn’t that be considered great marketing?
There is information written over 70 years ago that is still useful and beneficial to people today. For instance… “how to recognize, prevent, and treat horse colic”… is information found in the public domain written over 70 years ago, but millions of people will buy it today and benefit from it if presented to them.
Considering there are hundreds of thousands of new faces hitting the internet monthly whom haven’t seen most of the information when it was first issued… those new faces will, and are purchasing those “recycled” products and getting some value and benefits out of it.
The same thing is done in the offline world. We all know who originated the automobile, but it’s chevrolet, and others who are making more money off of it than the originator of the automobile by recycling it with new covers, doors, engines, etc…
How many of us trying to market something “new” are making the kind of money Cody is making by “recycling”? Considering the amount of subscribers to all of his memberships, and repeat buyers he gets… there are many many thousands of people receiving value and benefits from what he offers.
I’m not persoanally a great lover or admirer of Cody or anyone else online as far as that matters… however, I do give some credit where credit is due when viewing things from all aspects.

Terry:
There are always 2 sides to every story, and if Cody had refurbished the material, or atleast changed the graphics, I would consider it totally legit.
But he hasn’t, and he didn’t.
He’s taking material that has been sold over and over and over again over the last 2 years, quadruple the price and tries to screw his subscribers over.
Refurbish, ok. But what Cody is doing shouldn’t even be considered re-cycling (i just haven’t had the time to make a new badge), it’s robbery.
By Bjorn on Dec 18, 2007
Okay Bjorn:
Well I haven’t seen the products referred to, but I still say it’s marketing ingenuity when you can convince people to pay dollars for the same identical thing that everyone else is selling for pennies.
For instance, I have been to a major retailer(target), purchased an item at their price, then saw the same identical item in a “Dollar Store” the same day. The consumer side of me was pissed, but the business and marketing side of me had to admire what happened.
First on my part, I failed to check around. However, on Target’s part, they presented it to me in a different way. Though I could have gotten the item for many dollars less at the “Dollar Store”… I still got the value and benefit from it which I paid.
I learned a great marketing lesson back in the 80s from a guy when I was involved in mailorder. He wrote an ad I responded to which offered a free brand new(not refurbished) latex binding system for securing loose documents. All one had to do was pay shipping and handling.
Do you know what I received? A rubber band! Yep, you heard right, a friggin rubber band. Initially, I was pissed to the highest level of pisstivity( is that a word?). Noone could file a complaint against the guy and get a refund because everyone received exactly what was described, and it did exactly what he said it would do. Rubber is latex! A rubber band binds! So everyone that ordered received as advertised, a latex document binding system.
I a report the guy included, it stated that I’d just been introduced to a new marketing strategy that worked. And work it did because me and everyone else that ordered were living proof of that. The report was very eye-opening and it was a great lesson in ingenious marketing which has served me well over the years.
So, I still tend to attribute what Cody, Liz Tomey, Yanik Silver, David Vallaries, and so many others are doing with PLR, and public domain stuff as great marketing. And they’ve all been around for awhile, and probably will be for a long time to come… doing what they’re doing.
Would I buy something from someone if I know I can get the same identical thing cheaper from somewhere else? NO! Would it be devalued because I paid less for it, but received the same benefit? NO!
Hey, that’s just my take on it from a marketing bird’s eye view.
By Terry on Dec 18, 2007
Terry: There is a difference between marketing ingenuity and fraudulent marketing.
In his salesletter he makes several false statements. Firstly, the value of the products. They are heavily inflated and untrue.
Next, he states that the markets are extremely hot and profitable, which is not true. If you try dipping your toes in those markets with the products he’s selling, you’ll get burned and probably won’t make a red cent.
He also claims all you have to do is stick your name on these products and instantly you’ll have “six profitable businesses”. No, you’ll have six products that won’t make you any profits.
I sold these products to their target markets myself, and for the last 7 months I haven’t made a single sale. Why? I sold them straight out of the box. I changed the graphics and put my name on them, so OK, not straight out of the box but I think you understand what I mean.
They’re not profitable. Unless of course you find a micro niche in each of the six niches and change the products accordingly to fit the micro niches. That would take some research. Research takes time. Time equals money. The statements about “instant businesses” are untrue.
Yes, Public Domain is great! Instant products! But you can’t claim exclusivity on material in the Public Domain. Cody does. And the PD he sells isn’t rewritten by any means. The extra material is his, and I acknowledge that, but the main products themselves aren’t. He can not forbid me to sell the main products just because I cancel my subscription.
I’ve always liked Liz, and she refurbish PLR and PD she sells.
I see all your points, they are true and make sense, except most of them don’t apply on Cody Moya
By Bjorn on Dec 20, 2007
Hiya Bjorn,
Don’t mean to beat a dead horse here, but since you went into more details on certain points about the products offered, and how they are presented along with claims… well I would have to question the tactics myself.
As I mentioned before, I have not seen the products in question, and I was commenting from a smart marketer’s view of how to successfully sell products which you aren’t the originator of.
Claiming exclusive rights on original material that’s old as the hills, and forbidding you to sell them if you cancel subscription… wow, what kind of subscription did you have… the mafia gold club?
Oh well, I’ve been informed. Thanks for publishing my comments and the feedback, and keep doing what you’re comfortable with and what works for you.
Until another time, be well and prosper.

How do you bounce his mails - by blacklisting (know the term, but have never tried!) I admit, it’s quite a job deleting his mails. His membership terms for such trash leaves a bad taste. I lost the price of one month’s subscription and “his” products still unused. But knowing from here that it’s not really “his”, I’ll see what I can do with it.
Thanks Bjorn and Terry for an interesting insight. I learned something here from the Bjorn/Terry exchange.
Keep up the good work Bjorn and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!
By Ishak on Dec 22, 2007
Hi again Ishak

Whether or not you can bounce emails is determined by your email-client and/or your spamfilter tools. With Mailwasher, all i do is put the mails in my blacklist and tell mailwasher to always bounce. After 3-4 bounces, the autoresponder software often marks the email address as “unreachable” and won’t try to deliver any more mails
